Common Questions About Volunteering

We require a minimum commitment of 2 weeks for most volunteer positions. However, some specialized programs like the African Kitchen Apprenticeship or Discipleship Training School have specific duration requirements.

No special skills are required for most positions! We provide training and orientation. What's most important is a willing heart, teachable spirit, and passion for serving others. Specific skills like construction, teaching, or medical training are bonuses but not requirements.

Volunteers live at our base in dormitory-style accommodations. We have separate dormitories for men and women, as well as private rooms for couples. All meals are provided and include both local Ghanaian dishes and continental options.

Volunteers are responsible for their travel costs to Ghana and any personal expenses. We charge a modest weekly fee that covers accommodation, all meals, local transportation, and project materials. Scholarship opportunities may be available for those with financial constraints.

Yes, Ghana is one of the most stable and peaceful countries in Africa. Our base is located in a safe community, and we provide orientation on cultural norms and safety practices. We have staff available 24/7 to assist with any concerns, and medical facilities are accessible when needed.
