Terms and Conditions

1. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for any program, training, or volunteer opportunity with YWAM Neighbour Base, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions. This includes compliance with our mission, values, and community living standards.

2. Registration and Commitment

All registrations for Discipleship Training School (DTS), Apprenticeship Programs, volunteer roles, or missionary service must be completed with accurate and complete information. Participants commit to the full duration of their chosen program and to abide by YWAM Neighbour's community guidelines.

3. Mission and Purpose

YWAM Neighbour Base exists to love our neighbors and bring them to Jesus through spiritual, economic, sustainable, and community development. All activities—including training, evangelism, and mercy ministries—align with this mission based on Luke 10:25-37.

4. Community Living Standards

All staff, volunteers, and students living at the base agree to:

  • Participate in weekly neighborhood gatherings and fellowship
  • Respect dormitory, single room, or couple room arrangements
  • Adhere to scheduled meal times and community responsibilities
  • Maintain a Christ-centered lifestyle in accordance with YWAM values

5. Program Participation

YWAM Neighbour offers various programs including:

  • Neighbour Discipleship Training School (DTS): 5-month program with lecture and outreach phases
  • Apprenticeship in African Kitchen and Dishes: Cultural and food preparation training
  • Eco-Building Program: Sustainable construction training
  • Evangelism Outreach: Village visits, school programs, and open-air evangelism

Participants agree to fully engage in their chosen program, including both learning and practical service components.

6. Financial Responsibilities

Program fees cover accommodation, meals (three daily servings of Ghanaian and continental dishes), training materials, and outreach expenses. Payment schedules must be adhered to. Limited scholarship opportunities may be available based on need and availability.

7. Health and Safety

Participants are responsible for obtaining necessary vaccinations, travel insurance, and any required medications. YWAM Neighbour provides basic first aid but is not liable for pre-existing conditions or incidents during recreational activities (swimming, boating, fishing, canoeing).

8. Cultural Respect and Adaptation

Participants agree to respect Ghanaian culture, traditions, and local communities. This includes appropriate dress, interaction with neighbors, and participation in cultural exchange activities.

9. Outreach and Ministry

Outreach activities (both local and international) are integral to YWAM Neighbour programs. Participants agree to serve respectfully in targeted areas, using approved methods including African arts, community development, and relational evangelism.

10. Code of Conduct

All participants are expected to maintain a standard of conduct that reflects Christian values, including integrity, honesty, purity, and respect for others. Substance abuse, inappropriate relationships, or disruptive behavior may result in dismissal from the program.

11. Liability Waiver

By participating in YWAM Neighbour programs, you acknowledge and accept the inherent risks associated with mission work, travel, and community living in Ghana. YWAM Neighbour is not liable for personal injury, loss, or damage to personal property.

12. Media Release

YWAM Neighbour may use photographs, videos, or testimonies from programs for promotional and reporting purposes. By participating, you grant permission for such use unless otherwise stated in writing.

13. Termination of Participation

YWAM Neighbour reserves the right to dismiss any participant whose behavior contradicts our mission, values, or community standards. In such cases, refunds are at the discretion of leadership.

14. Modifications to Terms

YWAM Neighbour may update these Terms at any time. Participants will be notified of significant changes. Continued participation constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.
